I believe Felix will end up with Elisa and Poor little Justa will get Mus .... IF she's lucky. I more or less see her evil step mother getting her way and and making the poor girl marry the ugly old man.
And actually, Felix just may end up dead. Who can say what will happen if Domitian finds out where he really is...
Very nice panels. I like that you colored the pane where she mentions the wedding feast. Seeing the touch of color on Justa's cheeks made me smile. The girls does have romance on her mind. But what girl of marrying age in that time period doesn't?
Felix has decided he'd like to live to be 110, so he'll at least be trying to avoid the Romeo and Juliet plot, though we do know how Romans feel about honour and doing oneself in before the authorities get you. He'll need a new profession if he intends to make it past, oh, 30. He'll also need to hope Domitian has completely forgotten his existence. My Magic 8-Ball tells me this last is not too likely. Also, he'll need to get out of the way of You-Know-What-with-the-basement-full-of-lava.
Hey, waittaminnit, are you saying Mus isn't a good catch for poor little Justa? With his fortune in fish-pickle sauce?!
I keep dithering about going colour with the comic whenever I paint-by-numbers a panel and like how it looks. Then I look at the clock and see how long I fussed over one frame.... Frankly, I don't know how some webcomic artists manage it, especially the ones with daily colour comics.
Some people will say it's the subconscious at work, but that's where the characters live and I'm sure it's them telling me the plot. I didn't even like the house Vitalis moves into--I liked the view from the street, actually :P Then as I studied the house a bit more, I saw that it was a very peculiar house with oddly shaped rooms; and archaeologists are uncertain as to its intended use--a school? a meeting place for the priests of Augustus? Then I looked at the houseplans even more and noticed the bricked-over door into Stephanus' house, and the bricked-over access to the house to the north with a tavern, and Vitalis tapped me on the shoulder and said "Finally you get why I bought it. It's not just the convenience to the Forum and the good views of Vesuvius!"
Now, if she can get her hands on Stephanus' money and properties, she can sell off that apartment building on the other side of town and buy up the rest of the city block and paint her name all over the walls. Oh, and Justa's name, too.
I believe it was actually Vitalis who assumed "girls like flowers." But Justa can go see flowers in the garden any time. How often do you get crocodiles in the parlour?
