Well, let's see Talicus' perspective... his best buddy--and maybe, who knows, even his fellow freedman, which could be a very close bond--and in any case someone he considers family... brutally tossed off a roof into the bay--who knows how long before he finally washed back up... and the people in charge of peacekeeping say in response to the tossing-off-of-roof, "Thanks for keeping the peace"... and then this little morsel shows up and nobody knows the boy is there, and some days it seems like the fates are telling you, "Look what I wrapped in a bow," and...
Yeah, it's still not a very bright move. Maybe between the two of these guys they have most of a complete brain and a sense of self preservation.
