Maybe so, but NYC is so angry with Republicans in general now (what with the whole "there are no national monuments in NYC" "the Empire State Building is just a tall office building," "the Brooklyn Bridge is just a bridge," "ports? what ports?" "send that anti-tarrrrrist money somewhere else!"); I'd be stacking up my Liberal Street Cred if I were a Republican trying to stay in office around here. At least, the general sentiment I hear (from non-Wall Street types) is, "Yeah, you're a Republican, but if you do a good job you do a good job--and WE'RE KEEPING AN EYE ON YOU." That, and "Turn my A/C back on, d@mmit!"
Hey, just because Con Ed couldn't figure out where to put the decimal point when counting people without power in Queens during a heat wave... Could've happened to anyone. Why the Mayor's Office would have NO reason to actually send someone OUT to Queens and see what was going on... I should stop mumbling before I actually say something which makes sense. By accident. (grin)
