I've had to give myself three injections a night the past couple of weeks, and tonight an intramuscular (read: "gigantic hairy needle") injection. I am positive I did it wrong and my leg will fall off.
I'm still a little out of sorts but plan to catch up on drawing and replies (and all my freelance work) tomorrow. Feel free to send chocolate, unmarked bills, and well-trained servant minions in encouragement.

Another trip to the doctor this week. This comic not for the easily squeamish. By this I mean you, guys.( Actually, nothing particularly squeamishy happens, but I know sometimes lads like to avert their eyes. )

Saturday, 29 July 2006 11:45 amI had this crazy fantasy they would hire both of us. But I should have known it was wonky karma from the start.
Another friend/business contact mentioned the possibility, sometime in the future, of maybe perhaps it-just-might-happen having an editorial position for me that would be quite thoroughly spectacular; so I know I should cool my heels, work on my freelance projects, enjoying getting to read and report on manuscripts and potential import titles and proofread galleys and copyedit hapless authors and all that other good stuff that means I don't have to do drudgework HTML and spreadsheets unless I want to; and take this time to tend to things in Austin; and have patience. But it would have been nice to get a little validation after applying to so many jobs and not getting called for interviews. Maybe they sense from a distance that I don't have a good suit.

My drawing schedule always gets knocked out of whack by conventions or other weekend activities, and my brain always seems to require far too long to recover. I did do a little bit of irate sketching about the checkout-desk chick at the Marriott while sitting on the floor of a hotel meeting room, though. ( So the first penguin says... )Because I'm going to be legless on rum for the next two days
