SPQR Blues: State of the Art

The state of the current piece of art is: 100% pencilled, 25% inked. Now I understand why some webcomics artists have those little progress bars on their pages to show where they are in the creation of the next strip. This gives me a feeling of actually moving forward, instead of the usual "ugh! not done yet!" angst :)

I have my best software engineers on the project right now. They're all sitting in Aero chairs, swigging Coke-n-Jolt-n-Red Bull cocktails and eating pizza. They should be rolling out Version 1.0 by midnight, if the pizza lasts.

What do you use to ink?

I really love Sakura brand brush pens for comic art (a friend bought me a set I've been playing with), but for the Romans I decided to use the precise line of Sakura's Pigma Micron pens: 005 size, 01 (0.25mm), 03 for the lettering (when I can find the darned pen), and 08 for the panel outlines.

In high school I loved crow quill pens, dipping the sharpest possible point into a nice aromatic bottle of India ink :)
