Another random sketch. No biggie. Just some pencil squiggles. From that goat incident what got edited out but will be returned to later perhaps in the printed version.

Setting up a refurbished computer? You are much braver than I, Gunga Din. I tried to do that a couple of years ago and had a month of virtual grief. Eventually I went back to the old machine and got Happy. Poor Happy. Still I look forward to the next installment of Romans... if Romans can indeed be installed. DRW.

I often had trouble using Microsoft Romans 2.1 on the old laptop, but with the new OSX and some extra RAM I should be able to run it.

Ha ha?

Yeah, I need some food to make my brain start working. Lunchtime!

I tried to load Romans 2.1 on my Mac, I'm running OS 9.1 It seemed allright at first, but the next time I tried to open Phalanx 5.2, it turned up missing. Within two days, Romans 2.1 had established outposts in all my other programs (it is a Microsoft product, after all). I was thinking about getting Huns 1.1, but my friend Chotke says it could precipitate a complete meltdown. I just heard of something called Claudius. Do you think that would help, or will it just make everything worse? Enquiring minds want to know. DRW.

I recommend the most recent patch to Claudius, Vespasian. Whatever you do, don't download the older patches Caligula, Nero, or Jaguar. And watch out for this warez program that's been running around called Visigoths 3.0. It just installs Windows XP.

It also wouldn't hurt to examine some entrails on the hard drive.

I already knew about the Jaguar patch, particularly the older versions by Lucas. I know a site that has the Vespasian patch real cheap... they had an attractive price on Caligula as well, but I prefer something in a Nike Gladius. I will consult my oracle about examining entrails. Yer right, it couldn't hurt... well not me, anyway. DRW.
