Move along, nothing to see here, except some drawings and stuffWoe, the poor artiste! My hands are still a bit unsteady (I keep flubbing my lines, yar de har har har), but if anyone would like a spoiler preview of the partially inked (and in some spots only partially drawn) pencils of chapter 2 part XVII, here it is after the cut.

Part XVII, in which Felix gets to be in a typical war movie.
dagnabbit that vonfricken foreshortening to heck!

You can sort of see from the scan that I use that hugely expensive version of comic-book illustration board with the blue ruler and margin lines already marked on it, because 1) the ruler is already marked on it, and 2) you can erase and erase and erase and erase and the paper still holds up and handles inking well. But I don't stay within the designated "live" area of the sheet, so the strip doesn't conform to yer standard comic-book dimensions. Because I am a wild thing!

When I print chapter 2 and reprint chapter 1, I think I'll make the book square :)

Enjoyed!

Maybe someone could do a stage play of Star Wars entirely in Latin. You know, like "Winne ille pu." But (I hear you say) won't that have limited appeal? I say, fie! The DaVinci Code is making movies in Latin all the rage again! Also, I am extremely sleep deprived and am probably delirious.

I must say, those are terrific S's. I'm a huge fan of S's (even though for some reason my capital, non-calligraphic S's look upside down these days).

Yes, yes, yes! That would be fabulous!

Constantine had my husband and me and the Jesuit priest we saw it with howling with laughter at the theology, but the *Latin* looked great. (As did Tilda Swinton.)

I'm glad you like the S's. I'm not particularly happy with them, or at least I wasn't at the time, but they're good enough. I practice the letters "S" and "E" more often than any other because it's so easy for an S to look awkward and E is the most common letter in the English language, so, it really should look good.

Roman Majiscule's are really dificult, though, being the most perfect letters possible. I'm much better at blackletter. (http://static.flickr.com/52/142591580_056be81b76_o.jpg)

You'll probably find this alarming, but one of my favourite things about Roman capitalis epigraphical lettering (whew, too many syllables( is how stone carvers handled mistakes :) I also once went a little dotty and based a silly little mystery story on a chunk of carved stone the protagonists find in the tunnels under Herculaneum. I'm not all that clever a mystery writer, but I do love letters.

Ooh, silly mystery stories. I like those! Do you still have it? Have to say I'm more a fan of words than letters. Nothing more satisfying than learning a new word like "corethogyne" (something to do with the naughty bits of certain female moths).

Well, it's a mumblefanfictionstorymumble, but it's a sort of snarky one set forty years after the events of the original, so maybe it will make sense to nonfans :) I'm not so sure I still have it in non-hardcopy form, but I think the editor/publisher will give me permission to photocopy part of her zine if she should happen to be around lj for any reason ::coffahemcoff:: I'll also search around my hard drives and see if I can find the e-copy and inflict it on you.

So, now we're reduced to moth pornography? This country is so corrupt.

What am I saying? Letters are fun, too. I do think the biggradu's calligraphy is quite beautiful, by the way.

Have I told you lately how very much I luv your stuff?

That would sound so very wrong taken in certain contexts... but you do know what I mean, doncha honey?

Heh heh heh.

Now if I could just talk you into being my very own little art slave and just draw little elfies names things like Ronti, and Yharren... and Navah... Hmmm?

Kissie!

A little melodrama to take care of the blood-and-guts portion of being a soldier. Maybe I'll go back to lenghty discussions of socks after this.

Elves... well, I will give it the old college try (which I believe involves getting drunk and staying up all night).
