Dave the mechanic says when I last had the oil changed, a filter wasn't placed back on correctly. Whether or not that was the problem causing the Check Engine light to come on, a few miles of driving after he fixed that and the light went out. So...
Also, he said I should bring the car back to him after the road trip for a diagnostic test that starts at $75, so maybe I scared the Check Engine light into turning off.
I'm not completely enjoying the 92F weather here, but it's supposed to cool off to a frigid 70-something, and hopefully I'll get to see more of Austin than the inside of a PODS storage unit (I'm working remotely while trying to get a condo cleaned out). Yesterday I had lunch at Threadgill's and paused a while in thought over the "History of Threadgill's"/Janis Joplin comic book displayed in the entrance corridor. Austin seems still pretty Austin-y, with the addition of half-finished swoops of highway overpasses tangled over Mopac and I-35.
I love printed comics (well, printed books in general, but particularly comics). My strips have been in whatever size and dimensions suit the topic--or fit on the paper--so I'm not sure how well they'll lend themselves to the restriction of a consistent trim size. I've been experimenting with grouping several on a printed page, and with sticking to a consistent format, and Colleen has threatened (threatened, I tell you!) to get me a notepad of pretty paper so I can train myself to do one comic per sheet per day. We shall see about that. 'Cause I do like pretty printed bookthings one can play with on the subway.
My threat is repeated! I was actually in Dick Blick (without you ...sniff...sniff...SOB!) last night and was going to pick something up for you as a welcome back from that (*points towards texas*) but I didn't know what brand/weight and stuff you use. When you come back we are gonna take a trip to good ol' D.B. As your future publisher Touch It Comics I demand it.
Oooh glad you got to play with swords! I think taht's what's missing from our office.
