An arrow through the laptop is never good for the nervesThose words no one wants to hear: erase your hard drive...

Cupid broke my laptop?

Hrm. Apropos of nothing: I should have used Blackadder II as one of the stand-ins in yesterday's comic, as long as I was drawing curly-haired men with facial hair playing video games. I do love Blackadder II.

Yes, you!!

You're fancier-fancier. Especially in a sombrero.

I apparently have some appeal to guys who have been locked in a room full of broken Macs all day :-)

::giggles::

I hate to admit it, because it's such an '80s color that it feels like I should be prancing around in jellies, with tacky Madonna hair to boot, but I love teal. :) Something about it just makes me feel calm.

But I think I'm only somewhat Machiavellian because I won't sell out my friends. My enemies will do nicely. ;)

And thank you for the compliment. :D I like that! "Elaborate mind" . . . yes, I like it a lot.

oopsie.

Hi there, Amica. I wish this were a recent story, but the whole saga ends just before I moved back to the eastcoast last year. I'll draw quick-like-a-bunny to tell the rest of the story.

I haven't caught up with your lj in way too long. Now I have a nudge to go read it.

So... How is anybody's power colour Teal? And you're only somewhat Machiavellian? Hey, I've read your fiction. That is clearly the product of an elaborate mind ;-)

Oh. My power colour is Teal, too. Oops.

See that's why Macs are the best. Although I do long for the System 9 days when it was easy to fix your own computer.

I used to think nothing of doing all the fixes myself, right up to cracking open the case and moving things around. Now I'm sorta afraid of my Mac. And it knows it.

Haha! Was it really called Macintosh Magic?

Now I finally know what he looks like. I really like this story.

(By the way do I have permission to send Liz P. a link to your comic you did yesterday?)

Absolutely, no perms needed. (Wait, who is Liz P.? Do I know Liz P.? Will she hurt me? I am very fragile, you know, inside my iBook shell.)

Yes, it was really called Macintosh Magic. I picked it out of the listings because I figured I'd need magic to save a hard drive that hosed.

Ms. Liz Prince. She had an LJ post that everyone should buy her book. I think she'd appreciate this.

Oh. THE Liz Prince.

I was mentally going through all the Tadpolites trying to remember if there was someone named Liz.

There is nothing sexier than a man talkin' about macs.

Nice!

Nothing's sexier than a man talkin' macs and coaxing you to sign up for an online game where your character wears itty bitty miniskirts and his is a highly evolved fish with opposable thumbs and an inflatable throat sac.

Mostly, though, yeah, it's the mac-talkin' that gets a gal.

You didn't call me!

But it was in favor of a cute guy that offered nice pick up lines... so I understand.

How far is Versailles Kentucky, anyway? Mm?

Versailles is a quick trip from Paris to the C Line train from--

Oh. Versailles, Kentucky. Right. Beh.

That's an easy day's drive from here. If you're crazy, like me, and consider 12 hours on the road trivial.

(I am getting the feeling I missed some important e-mail, or an important phone message :-( )

Everyone is going to be so disappointed about how this comic plays out. This is not a breaking news story. It's a year old.

I'm in Kentucky. You knew that right?

Kyleen quit her job and is in Kentucky... Do I need to call Klio tonight? Since I don't have internet at the place I'm staying I'd be happy to. Heh.

Ooo, I think you need to call Klio tonight. If you are able and it is convenient.

I thought the Kentucky thing was a temporary work transfer of some sort. The news reached me all garbled. Dam' Eudora eating my e-mail!

I will try and call tonight. I didn't get your reply until after we had left the library. I'm at office in Louisville at the moment.

Kissies.

Hm... it is creeping up on about two years ago, I *think.* 2005 absolutely evaporated out from under me.

So, not so much a breaking news story. But still a story about things breaking.

Hi! *wave wave wave*

Hopefully I'll get a chance to see you both soon. I'm plotting a trip to Austin this month. Details to come (if and when I ever figure them out).
