Today's 10th Birthday comic will post TODAY or else. Even if I have to post just the pencils. Then it'll be a two-day celebration as I keep drawing ALL NIGHT!
No, this isn't the 10th Birthday comic, it's just for fun...
:-D I've always loved that*! I just figured someone else had already beaten me to recognizing the reference!
Now that I'm on a roll, do I see NOLA on the wall in 2005? A post-Katrina reference? Or an obscure form (probably one of those pesky future imperatives) of nolo, nolle?
*and by "that," I mean the SPQR Noir design . . . holy cow, I literally only just now got that you substituted one color for another. *foreheadsmack*
Yay, it's noticing-references night! Plus your awesome icon!
"NOLA" does double duty. It was a deliberate post-Katrina reference, and it's in the original wall painting; Nola is a nearby location.
I've misplaced my good reference photo of the wall, and I'm having a hard time finding a clear one online now. The wall is now protected under a pane, so tourist photos all seem to have glare on them :)
