Gosh, she's not that much older than Damon, is she. But she's trying to act like a proper Lady of the House now.

Well, she is the Lady of the House now. There is nobody who can take care of her but herself. I'm glad that she is taking charge of her own life. Vitalis did a good job rising her daughter and I think that her father and even Calatoria left their mark on her.

Iusta spent her first five years with Petronius and Calatoria, before Vitalis claimed her.

I think that for Damon, age matters less than power. Iusta has power over him and even some over Felix. She is the Mater Familias. He has been taught to respect that, even if he resents it.

I really feel for Damon here; he looks so out of place and as if he's afraid he'll get caught whether he's done something or not. Really fits with his character arc!
