They did look a lot alike--their father's genes were strong. But Titus is the big guy, and Domitian is a little squirrely around the chin...eyes...temperament... (I always imagine squirrels as being pretty jumpy and paranoid.)
Felix has been the anti-ambition guy all his life--other than ambitions to do something worthwhile (soldiering), have a family, take care of his people. That might be about to change (by choice or by force).
I certainly had the impression he would have been entirely happy to shack up with/marry either Vitalis or Justa, for example.
It does feel to me as though Titus and Domitian projecting him as a threat will turn him into one (as Titus says, a sword sheathed). (I suspect Titus would like to use him to whack Domitian, who has clearly become a PITA of long standing. My only regret about this is that (historically) it doesn't happen soon.)
The Romans were not good at letting sleeping dogs lie, were they?
PS Thank you for lovely lovely comic. Niiiice layout there.
In an alternate universe of my universe, Felix and Vitalis are happily running the pub together, eating lots of sausage and playing dice, and keeping the (not-buried-by-volcano) town contentedly soused :)
In that alternate universe, we could also have Domitian accidentally fall into the volcano. Oops. Problems solved all around.
In my alternate universe, Felix made the centurionate and retired as Primus Pilus. Lolla, his "wife" when in the legions, would probably had given him several sons and daughters by this time. And he probably would be in the Misenum area helping the survivors.
That was Felix's dream before certain emperor took a liking to him.

And, they have arrived to Rome and now must walk a lot to get to Iusta's Roman property.

I really like "We're keeping an eye on him." Could be implying a threat--or perhaps alleviating one.
