ElfQuest fan art for our holt from mumblety* years ago. Below the cut.

It didn't strike me until after I'd inked it that, even though this is supposed to be a smaller, part-dog wolf, he probably should have been a little larger relative to our elf friends riding him. No wonder he looks so grumpy!

Roman sketch of the day tomorrow!

Actually, I think you did an amazing job of capturing Pini's style. I remember the Pinis talking in the first Gatherum about how hard it was to find anyone who could match her (e. g. for the earliest concepts of doing an animated movie). They did eventually let Fancher assist a bit, which was okay. Of course, that was before they completely lost their minds, as I see it, in the 1990s, and let a bunch of other people take it in completely bizarre directions.

(original Elfquest is the reason I started reading comics, starting in 1980!)

Ronti and Greeneyes! :D

Clearly the part-dog wolf is unusually strong proportionate to his size, and is actually very proud of the fact that he can bear two elves! He probably brags about it to the full-blooded wolves off-camera.

It's a great picture, besides.
