This weekend I’m catsitting for a friend of a friend in rural Masachusetts. The weather is murky, so I probably won’t be doing much of the walking and hiking I had planned, but I did haul the pens, paper, and computer with me, so I’m all set for some intense Roman time.

Here’s where I get to work, with a lovely view and no television:

It's nice to have a change of pace from feeling crowded by life, work, and spending hours every day on a subway. Also, neither of these cats has tried to chew my arm off, which is a bonus.

Coool! You're in Massachusetts!

I'm in Massachusetts :D

Legion III is planning an encampment next weekend (if you're in the area that long) in Northampton (it's in Western MA, not far
from UMass Amherst)

::waves::

Can you see me??

I'm near the MA/NY/VT border, which, all things considered, isn't far from Amherst and Northampton. Too bad the catsitting gig wasn't for next weekend! :\ Alas, I'm only here until Monday. Next weekend I anticipated being swamped with day-job work.

I hope you have better weather for next weekend. Today hasn't been too bad (I even made the squishy walk down to the creek and communed with the insects), but a little sunshine wouldn't hurt!

Oooooh.

As it happens I'll be heading down to NYC on Monday with friends, taking the train from Springfield down. :D

Rural bliss!

Aww, that's so purty! Though it's good you've got quiet solitude for writing and drawing, a leetle-tiny walk in that lovely green garden might be good for you. Enjoy-Aeronaut

A meet-up would have been fun! It turns out I'm leaving this morning, not Monday--I misunderstood when the person I'm catsitting for would be getting back home. But I did get 1-3/4 of a comic drawn, and finished Sweetum, more or less, so it was a good though short weekend.

I'm going to be in MA again soon, I think, for a little comics convention. I'll try to announce travel plans in advance next time :D

Super -- depending on what part of MA, I might be a perfect break. I-91 and I-84 cross at Hartford, about 4 miles from our house.

It's not too late to open a can of sardines and pour a little of the oil on your arm where the cats could have a chew. I'm just saying.

Beautiful! :D

I've got a chest cold I'm nursing, and I don't have anywhere near as lovely a view. But I'm going to work on stuff too.

And that's my favorite picture of Venus that you've done. She's so beautiful there!

Be sure to rub your chest with mentholatum and apply a warm compress (heated towel, small pet, etc.). I hope you're able to have a creative weekend regardless!

And thank you for the compliments on the Venus. I'm rather liking how she turned out, truth be told :)

Have a great trip! Remind the cats that they don't have opposable thumbs, so if they take out your arm, nobody is getting a clean litterbox!

(How do you spell opposible? Every way I try it, spell check doesn't like. Of course, it doesn't like "litterbox" either.)

Or opposable. I've seen it both ways.

Thumbs

I am diametrically opposed to either, or both. Just to be contrary. Aeronaut
