Date: 2012-02-14 01:44 pm (UTC)Do you kneel like that when you're sitting on the ground/the floor? I would find that uncomfortable pretty quickly; I'd sit cross-legged "Indian style." My two-year old is comfortable sitting with his legs straight out in front of him, and I found that interesting, because I think older folks all bend their knees.

Date: 2012-02-14 02:23 pm (UTC)I once looked around for examples of people sitting on the floor/ground in Roman and Greek art, and if I recall correctly you see a semi-cross-legged, one-knee-up pose a lot (http://spqrblues.com/IV/?p=215). IIRC.
There's also that squat-sit (knees up, rear end not touching the ground) that little kids find easy but adults don't unless it's something they've kept doing regularly.

Date: 2012-02-14 06:44 pm (UTC)I have not been on LJ much lately as I have been kidnapped by Second Life. SO is still working on Titans' TravelsThe Roman View), albiet slowly, and we have been getting a lot of hits from SPQR Blues, so thank you!
I am going to have a mad time catching up with LJ when my SL project is launched next week, and I will probably go back and re-read SPQR Blues because I love it so much. (With your permission, my avi might even mention it in SL.)

Date: 2012-02-15 04:07 am (UTC)I have been trying and trying and trying to view your LJ, and finally someone on the support team said the problem was that I'd set my preferences to show all journals in my style, only it can't apply my S2 style to your journal because yours still has an S1 style. I think this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard and I entirely blame LJ for it--but you might want to make a post saying "If you get an error 500 when viewing my LJ it's because of this ridiculous style thing, and you need to turn off viewing everything in your own style so you can see my LJ", or switch over to S2.
