Today's installment...

Try to remember the kind of September...or August... it's a song lyric, you see...
Has anyone else heard of that song?

Just to say I am SO HAPPY AND EXCITED to see SPQR Blues back! I visited Pompeii and Herculaneum this summer and it was a doubly amazing experience thanks to reading this. Thanks so much for your hard work and time in providing this beautiful comic!

Thanks so much! I'm hoping to visit in the spring next year. Or winter. Or whenever I can coax myself onto an airplane.

If you have any photos of your visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum you wouldn't mind sharing I'd love to see them. I always love new reference images :D

I had to make sure Seianti gets in an appearance!

I dithered a lot over panel 7, but panel 3 sort of took me by surprise. When I just relax, things seem to go much better :D

Hurrah! New Blues! All the different line weights create a really lovely effect. (<- justifying your pens, yup)

Five pens, two pencils, and three erasers were used in the production of this comic.

Oh, and Photoshop, to fix it all.

I'm so glad you pointed this detail out, [livejournal.com profile] oneangryrabbit. I didn't notice it at all, but I went back and looked and appreciated it even more! Thank you!

She is truly like a mistress of her house in panel 3. Beautiful work, all of it!

In this situation, probably better to need a new house than *not* to need a new house...

Our little girl is all growed up now!

Thank you, thank you for coming back to this. And now the agony as you drag it all out. But don't rush to knock everyone off. (grin)

Poor Iusta.

IIRC If she followed Felix she would lose everything but keep her life. If she didn't she would keep everything for eternity.

She's following Mus. Why am I thinking about the rich girl found with her jewels with the gladiators? She kept her wealth for eternity.
