spqrblues: (Blues 4 Mus)

come again?1) This is not the comic I intended to post for the 24th of August. But I'll keep working on that until I finish or fall over.

2) [livejournal.com profile] _w_o_o_d_, who does the spiffy French translation, is so not going to be happy with how much dialogue is crammed into these seven panels....

3) Previously, this.

The best laid plans of Mus...

Bad Domitian! Poor Mus! Poor Spendi + baby!

But oh, most unfortunate Nonius. In Domitian-speak, I suspect that "I won't hold it against you" can be translated as "I'll be looking for an opportunity to skewer you to the wall, any day now."

It's a good thing he's not emperor. What with all that unlimited power, who knows what could hap--oh... wait...

On the up side, a lot of records are about to go ka-blooey?

A lot of records are soon going to require a pickaxe and an X-Ray CT scanner to uncover.

Oh, dear. Mus - learnlearnlearn *quick*. That baby needs hiding.

Hiding preferably in an entirely different city. Probably not in Pompeii.

I heard Alexandria was lovely that time of year . . . ::glances anxiously after Mus::

Mus - Save Spendi & Baby from evil Domitian! ;___;

Domitian's wickedness cannot possibly withstand Mus's innate goodness. One would hope.

Awwwww.

Our only hope now is some sort of tremendous natural disaster.

Yes, indeed. Now would it be possible to get one, in those whereabouts? Would the sea be deep enough for a tsunami wave? How about a fire? Even Rome was burnt down several times, if I recall. Or how about some wrath-of-gods thunderstorm that would strike down temples and palaces? Or a plague of dinosaurs? Pleeeeease...

I think I can arrange for all of that.

Er... I'll have to put a call in to find out whether any dinosaurs have been discovered in the streets of Herculaneum, but, other than that, can do.

Thank you!

(I'm still hoping for a plague of dinosaurs, someday, somewhere. Maybe not in this comic, though.)

That's for all the balloons crammed full with text, isn't it? I am thinking it would be fine to cut about 50% of it :D

It's just that "Sir, you're awake" translates as "Monsieur, vous êtes réveillé"...

But I'll figure that out once I'm caught up.

I keep forgetting about the "sir" problem. "Caes--" without the "sir" would suffice. As for the rest... I am too sleepy to make a suggestion right now :P
