Two for the LionsFirst person to find the Lindsey Davis reference wins... well, you know my track record for getting things to winners in a timely fashion, so... wins... the satisfaction of knowing a Lindsey Davis reference. Whoot?

Try not to step in the mushy stuff...

All you need is love. More or less.

Haven't been around for a while, only to find MORE updates! Yay!
The knowing face of the woman in the third panel made my day n.n Also, I'm fascinated by her arm on the fourth panel. So natural...

I believe it's a man too. There is a hint of an adam's apple I think.

Maybe I'll add the character to the Who's Who (http://www.spqrblues.com/dramatispersonae/) page, just to fill in that row :)

so was that temple perhaps one of Cybele?

Yup, could be. I'm not sure whether the requirements would be as drastic for servants of her temple and staff, as they were for her priests, but it'll be a few years yet before one of those Flavian emperors decides to outlaw such un-Romanly practices entirely.

Hm, this was the week for one of the big Roman celebrations of Cybele the mother goddess. Parties and patriotism, horse races and crazy dancing in the streets. Kinda beats my family's observances this week.

O__O True. I need to check my eyes...
Also, it's probably a side effect of reading webcomics at 3am.

3am is often when I draw them, so that seems reasonable to me :)

I'm jealous - whenever I try to draw fingers, they end up looking like bunches of bananas.

I used to draw and paint hands and fingers obsessively when I was around eight or so. So sometimes I get them right now :) Before that, my stick figure drawings had no hands at all. Or feet. So so sad. Fourth grade was a turning point in stick figure evolution.

I think I pay more attention to how my favourite artists draw hands than anything else they draw. Takeshi Obata has lots and lots of hands in Hikaru no Go, come to think of it. I seem to recall spending a lot of time studying Wendy Pini hands, though she has a tendency to leave off a finger :D

Wendy leaving off fingers...

Maybe that's why you sometimes draw hands that resemble those of industrial accident victims ... *giggles madly*

You know I'm kidding, right? I'll never forget that crazy boss and his crazy "critiques" of your and other artists' work. "It looks like her fingers were fused together in a horrible industrial accident." Wha-- ???

Oh, those were the days. Of something.
