Oddly, I did spend the much of the time drawing this with thoughts of Senator Palpatine coming to mind.... can't imagine why...

Ian McDiarmid does have a very Roman profile-- the last time I saw Revenge of the Sith I kept on thinking of all of the busts of old Roman Republican senators at the Met I've done sketches of.

I should try to make more time to get down to a museum and sketch. The subjects do stand remarkably still.

Usually I just draw gladiators modelled on ewoks.
