Indeed, the horsies. I must sulk for the rest of the evening.

I must sulk for the rest of the evening.

But this was a jockey-sitting-on-the-horse race - not a sulky one.

Robin had to explain that joke to me.

She also says: quite the funny little double entendre, that.

My knowledge of racing begins and ends around about, "Oo, pretty horsey," but I'm learning.

I want to smack the jockey until he looks like a bobblehead doll. >:( He should have kept Smarty back until the final turn. Idiot.

::sigh:: Oh, well. Another year, another colt to lose my heart to.

Hey, amica, you made it to lj!

Kris, meet Amedia; Amedia, meet Kris.

I am going to pretend today's race never happened, and live forever in the haze of timelines that might have been.

I'm also going to, finally, turn in and get some sleep, after having been coaxed to go buy Neosporin in the middle of the night for the cat-chomped infected hand. The swelling has gone down dramatically. Remind me to bring Neosporin along next time I time-travel to ancient Rome. This modern medicine stuff is awesome.

Hello, Amedia. Nice to meet you!

I'm glad you got some Neosporin for the cat-chomped hand. It beats hell out of pounded dormice and spiderwebs, hm? ;)

Everyone knows dormice are for eating, braised in honey and rolled in sesame seeds.

Spiderwebs, though -- that ancient medicine stuff is awesome. And occasionally dirty and fatal

Kris is a lovely person to speak with about all things Rome-related and writing-related. Now, if I can just convert her to the Way of the Rat and the 12th Precinct, she'll be perfect :-)

Amedia, I don't think we've met, but I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. :) I'm heavily involved in ancient Rome (got my own manuscript going on Marcellus and the Punic Wars), Wraeththu and Elfquest fandom, and Pern-related stuff. I also love Thoroughbred racing. My personal favorites are Secretariat and Ruffian.

Carol, what is the Way of the Rat and the 12th Precinct?? ::looks utterly confused::
