What's cooking

The Glyph Awards ceremony is tonight. If the weather were better, and if I weren't such an incredibly shy recluse, I'd travel to Philadelphia for the fun and to meet other comics people. It would be an excuse to wear my fancy-schmancy designer dress again and to stumble around on my twisted ankle in my especially dramatic high heels.

I've been nominated in the "Rising Star" category and find myself amongst luminaries such as Marguerite Abouet, creator of Aya. Since I'll be home tonight, I will put the time to good use and do much drawing.

I can't help but be all twittery and excited about the Glyphs, either way :)

::hugs::

I'm so proud and happy for you, amica. And I wish you could be there as well. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and holding good thoughts for you. :D

Nice icon :)

Aw, fooey, I think I should have taken today off so I'd have had time to rent a car or catch the earlier (less expensive) Amtrak train (and would have had time to figure out how to take public transportation from the train station to the event). Tomorrow is the actual comics convention... I could try to get to that, maybe... Or, I could celebrate the nomination tonight by eating an entire pizza tonight and downing a bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade and sleeping it off tomorrow. Because I am just that classy!

Thanks. I haven't mentioned often enough how much I love that movie. The ending might have been rewritten for Hollywood, but I'm a sucker for fairy tales that end well. :)

And pizza with Mike's Hard Lemonade sounds pretty good. I probably would have picked Jack Daniel's Downhome Punch or something equally sweet and fruity, but MHL would do the trick too. (Actually, now I want some sangria. Or a White Russian.)
