sketch from my deskI made a promise to myself that I wouldn't get out of bed this morning until I finished at least the pencils for the next installment. It might not sound like such a hardship, lying in bed in the sunny morning light with illustration board and pencils. But there are things a lady needs to do in the morning... like... uhm... putting on makeup and curling her hair, that sort of thing, yeah.

In any case, I did finish the pencils. The great thing about not having a lot of dialogue is not having to do all that lettering. The bad thing about it is not having dialogue to cover up all the parts of the picture you just don't feel like drawing.

The next promise: no sleep for me until the inking is done. I am determined. Grrr.

Pencils below the cut. They are extraordinarily spoilery.

Pencils... don't look! )

Criminey, how long ago WAS that?Months and months and months ago, SPQR Blues readers participated in a contest for a PC game that was just being released. The generous company that offered the prizes also offered to mail them directly to the winners, but I was worried about what they'd do with all that marketing information (i.e., everyone's addresses). So they shipped the prizes to me, and the box arrived at a time when it was just impossible for me to get them mailed. Then time passed. And I kept forgetting about that box. And and then every time I remembered the box, I had no access to a post office, or no cash, or some other lame excuse.

To make a long story long, I will FINALLY be mailing out prizes. I hope everyone is still at their addresses to receive them--if you're reading this and have moved, please let me know.

Criminey. I apologise. I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes. Maybe I just needed a dose of sunlight after a full night's sleep, which events have not coincided in a long, long time.
