Thanks. It's some swollen-tonsils thing, so I'm sure it will clear up soon.

(Lacking in further commentary at the moment.)

A sick cartoonist?

Oh dear, a sore throat and tonsils for a long drive? How yucky. Take lots of antihistamines and throat lozenges. This is one of those times to really appreciate air conditioning. Hang in there. DRW

Yup, tonsils, sore throat, stomach thingum, sinus stuff, the whole works. Non-drowsy antihistamines knock me right out (especially the prescription "special non-drowsy formula with possible side effect of drowsiness" ones, which are like sleeping pills to my crazy constitution). I am approaching the day ahead with extreme caution and suspicion....

You need an arrow on your nice new icon to show where it hurts. Hope you feel better soon! Sick is no fun, but sick while traveling is terribly unfair.

That was me wishing you well just above (I hate losing my cookies -- having to sign into everything again)

:) Thanks.

Now preparing for: 1800-mile drive; 1200-mile flight (GAH); 1800-mile drive. There is just about no logic to it, but it's a complicated story I won't elaborate on. Maybe later, assuming I ever make it back to home base :P

Feel better soon! Did they have chicken-noodle soup in ancient Rome?

All chicken, no noodles. And I'm told it was a chicken stew that killed the Great Love of Alexander the Great's life, so I'm wary. I'll use some other tried-and-true method, like careful application of crocodile dung.

chicken soup

Hmm, perhaps you can get chicken-soup to go for those long boring miles and miles and miles. A warm cuppa soup and head-banging rock and roll to keep you awake. The intervening distance will pass like a bad dream. DRW.
