spqrblues: (SPQR Blues 3 Mus)

It always feels like I've drawn a lot more in a week than I have :D But I am getting a little bit speedier. Part of it is probably because I'm looking at so much art at work every day—I was always inspired to write more when I was editing just plain texts (I really need to do more editing). And I figure, if I'm expecting illustrators to create the equivalent of about 20 SPQR Blues strips a month, I ought to see if I can do it too. Of course, they're getting paid for it... and some of them get to illustrate as a fulltime job rather than grabbing ten minutes here and there out of the work day... so I guess it's not quite the same :)

Mus has another question

ooooo... good place to leave us hanging! Excellent sense of suspense.

Now draw the next strip dammit!

I was going to try to build up a backlog and post this one "on schedule" on Saturday, but it seemed the wrong place to leave people hanging until the next scheduled posting date on Tuesday. Maybe I can go back to Mostly Daily. I've discovered it works really well to take breaks, literally just 5 minutes here and there and 10 minutes while eating lunch, during work to draw a little bit on a panel, update the progress bar, and so forth, then if I stay at the office a half hour or hour after work, I can finish up--all without the distractions of being at the house, and all without distracting myself from work too much. I think balancing the two things throughout the day is helping keep me sane. Well, relative to how I usually am.

Speaking of which--I'd better get back to work or I'll be at my desk over the weekend catching up :)

Apparently, good work can happen in "ten minutes" :)
And: 1st panel made me think of the "chained dog" ash cast. All those people and all I ever cared about was that poor dog in 79AD.
