This was intended to be the third row of part LXVI, so I'll call it that rather than give it its own number.

There was only one panel left to do this morning, and the weather was so bad the boss said it was okay to come in late, so... I inked for a little while. Well, I would have been spending that time eating breakfast or something, so might as well use it for art, yes? Though that last panel ended up a little rushed. The boss is nice, but does actually expect me to work occasionally....

I've been SWAMPED all day and have JUST now gotten read your fine works. :happy!:

I love these panels. Very nice. I like the fact that Spew'd is so nervous and very "girly" - you've portrayed it well.

This is a very interesting illustration of the verb "to loom".

Aw, I was hoping Felix would hit on him a little more before, well, hitting him.

He was going to--I mean, I was going to have him do so--but once he got that close he decided Speudon was just too creepy and asked me to do a rewrite.

The scene really is very different than originally imagined, but sometimes characters pummel you on the inside of the head and say, "No no no, yuck, do you see how much hair oil he uses, I don't know where he's been, blech." Seriously. Characters do that. You know how it is.

*giggle* Fair enough! Poor Felix has enough to deal with, I suppose.

(Are there any plans for there to be non-creepy people who modern readers would interpret as queer? The current storyline does have a slight aura of "gay guy == creepy and nasty" and I would love to see that balanced out at some point.)

Fear not.

The current storyline is presumably an attempt to establish the baseline of "what the average Roman-in-the-street might have thought" as opposed to modern perspectives. (To say anything else would be a spoiler, I suppose.) But I'll try to keep the story speeding along.

I like how Speudon gets over the shock of learning that Vitalis is dead v-e-r-y quickly once he realizes how much wealthier Justa has just become. Slimeball!
