spqrblues: (scribbler)

There's a falcon sitting on my windowsill here at work. I'm not normally in this early (I came in early so I could work on that Roman comic without distractions). I wonder if this perch is part of its regular routine.

It looks a little scruffy (must be molting season), but seems perfectly content as it swivels its head around (and waaay around) surveying the city from one of the highest possible perches. There's a thick haze over the streets below, so maybe it's waiting out the fog, or just waiting for a pigeon to dispose of.

Falcon heads pretty much turn all the way around. To stare at you.

Of course, the moment I started drawing its picture, it spread its wings and arced off the windowsill--but I'll scan and post a sketch or two this evening.

Last week we had a butterfly in the office. This building has a biosystem all its own....
