I love the last two panels of Vitalis, but the color panel is gorgeous. Very rich and dreamy--I started to say, "soothing," but Vitalis's backward glance is a little too wary.
To be honest, I can't wait to see all of SPQR Blues in color.
OF course this particular group of Brunos could just be some of Felix's old Legion buddies from the Accounting Dept. Maybe we're on the brink of a wonderful old-boys' reunion... or maybe they've come to warn him about the upcoming visit from the emperor and his brothers. It might be a nice time to visit the slopes of Vesuvius and Grandma whatsername, the witch... sorry, that should be 'seer' not witch. DRW.

Thank you! I started out colouring the panel to look like yesterday's Ode on a Grecian thumbnail, then just kept "doodling" until it morphed into something else :)
Ummm, I hate to tell you, but Vitalis says Felix has the best sausage rolls on the block, but she doesn't want 'em shared around. Be careful what you ask for! DRW.
For the SPQR Blues Gala Tenth Anniversary Party, the tables will be heaped with sausage rolls and honey-braised dormice. I am pretty certain neither of those things are a euphemism. In that particular sentence.
Larks' tongues and the livers of inebriated wrens, served by scantily clad youths and youthesses, also slightly inebriated. And party games like Pin the Treatise on the Philosopher and dancing the Oil-Lamp Boogaloo. And great quantities of rose petals sifting down over our heads. Oh, I just love throwing a party!
