Minotaur, part iI skipped #LVI in an effort to get things moving again. I'll backtrack and post it somewhere down the road.

I've noticed that the comicgenesis.com archive of SPQR Blues has been down more often than not lately. I think the number of comics on CG is getting too big for the servers to handle, and it's looking like time to move the "official" in-sequence archive elsewhere—which is a bummer, seeing as I have all these business cards printed up with the URL on them. Ah well.

Have I told you how much I luv Vitalis lately?

Well at least I can say that I, for one, am sated for a while. Just when I was wishing, this week, for a snack of references to the scholarly myth of the Cretan Gynocracy, I get this 9 course meal. Deo gratias! Or should it be Dea gratias?

Minotaurs indeed

Woops, here's a trio of big bruisers at Vitalis' door. Looks like Felix is about to have his work cut out for him. It's sword-time in the tavern. DRW.

Deae gratias. :-)

(the -o ending on "Deo" is to show that it's the indirect object - the corresponding ending for goddess is -ae.)

I meant to say, before I got all wrapped up in dative endings - I quite agree! I like the "snack" vs. 9-course meal analogy, and I do think that thanking the goddess is quite appropriate, whether we mean Venus, Isis - or [livejournal.com profile] meritahut!

Did you know that Ariane is actually the French version of Ariadne?

I didn't know that when I named my eldest Ariane (it's a very popular name in the Quebec province, where her father's family is), but I found out shortly afterwards, so I certainly know this story!

I didn't know that! It's the fictional name given to Robert Plant's wife in the song "All my Love," too.

:bouncebounce: It's so nifty to have a mental picture now to go with the username!

"Insatiable slab of beef?"

Stop making me giggle at work, you!

I don't know about you, but I could use an insatiable slab of beef, myself!
