The Pursuit of Happyness: A capsule review

Excellent performances by Will Smith and son in a relentlessly depressing movie about a man who pursues wealth at the expense of his small child. Audiences are to feel uplifted by the bonding he does with his boy as he drags him unnecessarily through the depths.
I saw this at a midnight show. I might get 2007 off to a start by writing up a full review on Outside Food. But I warn you, it will be scathing.

Date: 2007-01-01 05:16 pm (UTC)Where reviewers are hailing Will Smith's character as the hero in a great, Horatio Alger-type story, you seem ready to call CPS on him. I can't wait to see this review. (I've missed them!)
