Always tip your toga draperChapter 3 Countdown: III... II... I...

There are two more to go after this. Maybe I can finish up today. And just in the nick of time. I appear to be running out of space on the 10kd server. New Year's Day: housecleaning time.

Maybe you thought wearing a tie was a pain

Oh dear. That's not a very warm reception, is it?

hrm.

But Felix cleaned up well! :-)

And he wore a toga and got a haircut and everything, and doesn't smell like a fishing boat! Hmph! I get the feeling some people are going to miss the beard, though :D

Saaayy... could you do me a favour and ask your comic-shop connections out there whether they carry Pro Boardz comic book illustration board, "Professional" series, 11" x 17", Smooth finish, product number 501-S or 501-12S? I keep meaning to order some online, but shipping seems kinda excessively pricey. Maybe not, though, no more so than shipping them from where you are, but if they have 'em there, I could always combine getting it with a visit :D These are the pre-ruled illustration boards that everyone makes fun of people for using, but I get frustrated measuring out lines on blank 500-series bristol board, and it saves so much time to have it already pre-printed on the page. Other companies make a similar product, but the quality isn't as high. It is EXPENSIVE, but worth it in terms of saving time and saving energy and not being reduced to tears and/or fury by the time I'm ready to draw. Even though I will be made fun of for not ruling my own boards.

I'm currently staring at a blank sheet of Bristol board, not drawing chapter 2 #89 because I loathe measuring out the panels :P

Maybe I'll do some illustrations for "that other place." >:)

The product number doesn't match, but is this what you mean?

Please forgive my ignorance - I know only slightly more about artistic tools than I do about Ancient Rome ...

Anyway, if you see what you want from this company, there's a location right near me, and I'd be happy to add some apple butter to the package, if you so desire.

No! No! No shipping! Make her come for it! LOL!

She will and then we'll all have our spa day while we talk of elves, ancient rome, and dragons!

Oh... maybe we'll get a hotel for the night too? Where they have the indoor pool? We'll take Alex and the girls and she can babysit while we suck up the free internet.

Ha.

That's similar, and they have a version that's slightly higher quality than the one in the link, it looks like. The other product has a full ruler around the sides, though, where the one you linked to only has a few guides marked. So I'd still have to measure it out myself. I don't know why the other pre-ruled products don't have an actual ruler marked... seems a no-brainer.

Hmm... measuring it out myself would almost be worth it for some apple butter :D

Sleepy now. But posting next comic now.

I'm thinking after the holiday, and the day of "mourning" I'll be able to go scout out some art supply stores. Commercial Blueprint is a local company here that serves the professional community and the college. I woudln't be surprised if they have it.

And B2's sources are probably as good or better in the Detroit area.

And YES! YES! Come to Michigan for your birthday! Doesn't that sound fun? You can take a choo choo and come see me! Or drive.... Dunno it may be cheaper to take the train. I'll pick you up, we'll get that red head of mine (see below) and we'll have a great time! And you can even make the do the edits I owe you on the novel. Or you can tell me you hate it and it's totally not marketable. Either way, I'd love to have you come play with us!

Kissie!

::sniffling and sobbing in jealousy::

I wish I could come to Michigan for Carol's birthday and eat apple butter and have my feet rubbed by Russian ladies.

Nofair.

So far, that is my most-used word of 2007!

Awwww!

You come too! Get on a nice airplane and fly to like Detroit... it may be cheaper to there. That nice red head ([livejournal.com profile] b2creative will pick you up. And then she can drive you up to Lansing and we'll have ourselves an old fashioned traditional howl! ::nod nod::

Yay!

(We need to have an elfie chat! It's time! It's been too darned long!)

awesome, as always.
say, in your last reply you mentioned pt and all that stuff. i'm still dealing with the dumb arm things of doom. i know you're busy, but if you could shoot me an email or reply with tips or suggestions... i can't even draw because of the hurtin', and you clearly can, despite having my same weird ulnar thing -- and i need some hope! (or an arm transplant.)
also, my paper of choice is paris bleed-proof. once you start using it, you won't be able to stop. seriously.

I will e-mail you. I get so distracted by sparkly things, I forget to do things. But I will make a point of it tomorrow.

And sometime in the new year I'll go hunting for paris bleed-proof paper...
