I'm almost tempted to beg that you do all the comics i color after seeing that! It's damned lovely. :-)
I would bet that Felix wagers something that gets him that "D" on his chest rather than dead. I'm also thinking he wagers his way out of the army early and that's how they send him home.
Time for coffee and to drive Baby-chan to school. I have a bad cold. I'm sick. No fun.
AND get on the road pretty quick, will you? We're supposed to have rain to turn sleet and then snow up to six inches by Saturday. I know the East Coast often get's hit with a bad wave of weather coming down from the north.
I'm with kyleen66 on this one. So if we're right, I won't be too surprised. But I also wouldn't be surprised if we're still a few steps removed from figuring out the "D".
Me too. It would make an awesome T-shirt (hint, hint). There needs to be a CafePress page with SPQRB stuff - posters, T-shirts, baseball caps, togas...
So many of the other words for "wash" tend to have the meaning of "purify." And I dunno about your dishwasher, but mine has a hard enough time getting the tomato sauce off, much less makking anything ritually pure.
I must think of some more weird Rome-related products :)
This morning the car was barely running at all--shuddering badly and unable to maintain a consistent speed(!!!). I drove it limping and stuttering to a client of my mother's, and sat in the soggy Barnes & Noble while he worked on it (what a weird afternoon--it deserves a Daily Angst-ing). He says he can't prove I didn't need the part the first mechanics replaced, but he does think they overcharged me for it. He fixed the car by replacing the spark plugs, and gave me a break on the cost. Now it purrs like a kitty cat.
Re cold: I'm so sorry and hope you feel better soon. Drink lotsa liquids! Lie around under a blankie with your feet up! Make that girl drive herself to school! So what if it's illegal and she can't actually drive! :)
Re colour comics: With the way I obsess? Each panel would take hours :D
Re wagers and Ds and Felix probably-not-getting-killed (yet): We shall see...
Why, he wagers his nifty belt pouch that Dommy boy likes so much, of course. Haven't the rest of you been reading? :-)
Oh, you mean what does he bet FOR? Heh. Look at the pretty ... PRETTY ... flowers!
BTW, the bad weather's already here. So by the time you're ready to go and heading this way, it should be improving some. We're having an unseasonable burst of cold weather here in BR. It's usually warm and muggy at Christmastime. Bleah.
Don't worry, Klio. Hang in there. Whenever you arrive in BR, you'll have your choice of the Wonder!Couch or a nice air mattress in the guest bedroom, your choice of three cats to cuddle with (you know I can't offer Minya's company), and lots of bagels and bialys with apple butter. Yum!

I'm not sure about the right words for "clean/dirty," though--I wonder if "washed/unwashed" has the right connotation...

Date: 2006-12-01 10:29 pm (UTC)Oh, look, Domitian is on top for "dirty". Hee hee!
Washed/unwashed works for me - after all, that's what the dishwasher sign is really saying, isn't it?
