I also destroyed my bestest pair of most-excellently-fitting slacks by stepping in a pothole and sprawling flat on my face in the middle of a busy street. Oh, and did something horrible to my foot and ankle, but I'm more upset about the clothes. I'm not ruling out the possibility I've broken something, since I did once hike for four hours on a broken toe. But I'm still more upset about the clothes. Grrr.
