Watch out--bears!

According to the DaVinci Code, the inverted V in row 2 panel 1 indicates that one of these men is actually Mary Magdalene.

Once again, this is the top half of a full-page spread based on an example in Scott McCloud's book Making Comics of what not to do—an example of a page that's so chaotic the eye doesn't know which direction action travels through the panels. So, I thought that sort of layout would be appropriate to depict a span of several months in the war. But the effect won't be clear (or, hopelessly unclear, if it doesn't work out) until the next three strips are finished. I'll post the whole page together then. Feedback on how well it works will be eagerly accepted.
