Daily Angst: itty-bitty job search

I had this crazy fantasy they would hire both of us. But I should have known it was wonky karma from the start.
Blame Global Warming
Another friend/business contact mentioned the possibility, sometime in the future, of maybe perhaps it-just-might-happen having an editorial position for me that would be quite thoroughly spectacular; so I know I should cool my heels, work on my freelance projects, enjoying getting to read and report on manuscripts and potential import titles and proofread galleys and copyedit hapless authors and all that other good stuff that means I don't have to do drudgework HTML and spreadsheets unless I want to; and take this time to tend to things in Austin; and have patience. But it would have been nice to get a little validation after applying to so many jobs and not getting called for interviews. Maybe they sense from a distance that I don't have a good suit.

Am I a bad person if I don't wish Colleen Good Luck?

Wish you had gotten the interview!

A happy Colleen is good for everyone, though--she can do creative stuff (like help me sew together minicomics) and not be bogged down at work until 10 pm every night, and I'm thinking maybe I am meant to hold out for the abovementioned maybe-in-the-future editorial job. You know, fate, destiny, me pretending I believe in the power of positive thought and all that stuff....

Ah well. If I had to start a new job, I couldn't plan on driving down to Austin at the hottest time of year, right?

I am wishing Colleen good luck because I believe this is not your destiny.

I believe your destiny is to be a comic artist and creative person.

I believe the goddess has put her hand on you and you'll see what happens next.

p.s. - remember the goddess has a twisted sick sense of humor sometimes, so you just have to go with it. Heh.

Amen, Kyleen honey. Join me in sending waves of good karma 'n' energy to our Klio.

Well, I wish you both the best of luck!
Follow your heart and you will find where you truly belong.
Of that I am certain. :)

That being said, it's kinda the hardest thing ever. Especially since your heart never waits up or makes sure you're still back there! Don't give up. :)

(I'm really not trying to sound like a dentist's office poster. Honest I'm not!)

My dentist's office posters involve diagrams of gum disease, so I kinda like the "heart never makes sure you're still back there" idea instead. Although I'm envisioning a poster of a pearl-white beach, curving off into the sea-sprayed distance, where beats a tell-tale heart. Dentist visits could be very exciting if patients had to stare at that while waiting.

Hee...yes... but it would only be complete if the office was staffed entirely by Ravens in little pastel blue shirts with happy toof name tags!

My dentist's office just had tons of "hang in there" type posters. Straight outa Dr. Katz.
Also lots of duckies and kitties. :)

ImageWow, Dr. Katz--I haven't thought about that in ages. I don't think I've seen all of them, either... hmm... do they have it on Netflix? Hmmmmm.

:D
Priceless!

P.S.
Awesome comic!
The juxtaposition is great.
Heartbreaking... but great! :)
