It's hungry. VERY hungry. This is my comic for the latest issue of BOLDFACE, an e-newsletter for people early in their children's book publishing careers. (Brought to you in large-file-size-o-vision, because I'm too tired to fuss with creating a nice-looking PNG. Maybe later.) This one may be a bit esoteric if you aren't familiar with kid's books. Or The Blob. Text by the miraculous Colleen.

On June 29, frogs will fly

I want to see the Very Hungry Caterpillar movie. Mmmm, Swedish Fish.

I think my Outside Food for the new Pirate movie will be Swedish Fish. And rum. Lots and lots of rum.

Can't we bring Pie...rates? Okay, so that pun was a stretch, but I just really want pie!

Rum, pie, and Swedish Fish. Sounds like a complete protein to me.

Speaking of children's classics, there is a Richard Scarry story all about pie-rats.

I think Matt Stone and Trey Parker could do the Everybody Poops movie.

Now I'm picturing the one-humped camel and his one-humped poop drawn South-Park-style! LOL!

Since I'm excruciatingly familiar with children's books, it took me a few minutes to get up off the floor after reading this ...

You forgot the fun you could have had with Goodnight Moon!

I hope it wasn't a sticky floor. Swedish fish are hard to get out of the hair.

Maybe we need to do "AWFUL Movies," the sequel :)

Everybody Poops!!!! ROFL!!!!

We *loved* that book. We bought a copy and sent it to The Yuppies from Hell my brother-in-law and his wife. They haven't spoken to us since.

(Well, almost.)

I don't suppose you caught the dramatic reading Patrick Stewart once did of that book on a daytime talk show? I think it was Roseanne :P

Hysterical. We've got the nose-picking one (The Holes in Your Nose) and it will remain a favorite at least through adolescence.

Aaargh! No, I missed that.

It's probably on YouTube somewhere, but I have no idea how to *find* stuff there.

OMG - I loved this. LMAO. Definitely brings back some memories ... although they didn't have "Everybody Poops" when I was little!

LOL,
Robin

My kids absolutely love one of the books I got them for Christmas, Walter the Farting Dog, especially when I do my own dramatic reading of it. Maybe not as good as Patrick Stewart, but still quite enjoyable.

I'm such a bad influence.

I was trying to think of a suitably intellectual joke involving names that also make quite lovely verbs, but why is it I can only come up with, er, uhm, risque verbs?

Er... uhm...

No, no I just can't. I still have a vestigial sense of lady-like behavior in me.
