spqrblues: (funny story)

Another crummy little sketch. But, look! Today I have a good excuse!
Now I desperately need a bath

The good news is I didn't scrape my hands. Because I LANDED ON MY HEAD. That would be the bad news. Also I can't lift my left arm. And my left ear hurts (wtf?). But once again New Yorkers show how they are some of the nicest people around—if there's a crisis, you can count on a bunch of strangers to help you. Even the bike messenger swung back around several times until the EMS guys sent me on my way. Oh, yeah—there were EMS guys. But I declined a trip to the ER on St. Patrick's Day. Doctor visit tomorrow. My ear hurts.

Ack! I am semi-better today, but I kinda overdid it this afternoon and intend to spend tonight lying in a heap :-)

Yeah, good, get some rest! I hope there's an LJ post I haven't had time to read yet that says your arm is working fine now and your doctor gave you the all-clear.

My poster was a big hit, by the way. I'll take a photo when I get it back.

I draw righthanded, but this would be putting a serious kybosh on my fencing, if I were doing any regular fencing at the moment. The arm hurts less, but I still can't raise it. But my ear barely hurts at all this morning. Yay!

My body ordered me to sleep at around 9pm last night, so I guess it knew what it was doing :-)

That's some painful reason you found there. Hope you feel better in the morning.

And it's also a good reason to lie in a steamy tub up to my earlobes all weekend. Well, maybe only until I go all pruney. It's not decadence, it's necessary therapy!

I hope you are alright. Save those hands!

The hands are in good shape. The head is a little... uhm... gee... look at all the sparkly lights...

Ouch! Feel better soon!

Were you wearing Green?

So sorry you hit your head. Here's hoping the doctor fixes you up real good. I think you need to milk this for a whole week off work, and a trip to a massage thereapist, and some chocolate!

Take it easy!

It was clearly my punishment for not wearing green.

The metal pole was green.

Plainly some sort of arcane forces at work.

HOLY CRAP! Carol! Are you okay? I'm so sorry I didn't leave work at the same time. Perhaps I could have caught you or at least jumped on the biker's back and give him a stern yelling-at. Are you feeling okay today? Is there anything I can do to help?

If you had been there, I could have fallen on you instead of some metal pole I don't even know. hmph.

I hurt in interesting places and can't turn my head. But it means I get to lie around looking helpless. I like that part.

Yeeouch!

Gods, navigating NYC on St. Pat's shouldn't be such a nightmare!

I was nearly broadsided by a bunch of bagpipes in a crowd of kilts.

I'm glad the response was human. I've met some of these messengers, and they are all right. Get well soon!

People were very cool. They gathered my things and made sure I didn't lose track of my bag. I said mean things about the messenger while I was sitting in the NYC dirt, but then I saw that he did come back, and came back again, so, I send an apology out into the universe for assuming he had just pedalled off and left me in a heap.

I only saw one kilt yesterday. Men need to wear more kilts, I always say. Or tunics. Or legionary uniforms. Whatever works.

Whew, sense of humor still intact. Close call! Hope you recover quickly (but still get plenty of pampering, as you should).
