Today is Ben Franklin's Birthday; Bush debates 300-year-old man.

Nice little juxtaposition of quotes in Cheers & Jeers on DailyKos.com for Franklin's 300th birthday today. No doubt many other interesting Franklin-related events going on around the web. But not here. I am not going to be particularly interesting today.

To Heck with his philosophy... I want to get down to the real nitty-gritty. Did he or did he not invent swim-fins? Not nordic girls in bikinis, as sweet as they may be... I mean the flippers one wears on the feet. C'mon, Ben, get your wet fingers off those wine-cups and tell the truth. DRW.

Unfortunately, all the bits and pieces are scattered all over my Eudora, and probably very difficult to sort out. That's what I get for being Miss Slacker since around the end of November.

....you know, in theory, I think *I* own you! No, really - Follow this one through with me. Said Company exists to serve the needs of the member houses, yes? I am a member of one of the houses, (and probably the member of my house most involved with you, come to think of it), yes? My house pays dues that somehow probably pay your salary . . . so, I think I own you both! Wheeeeee!! Jump! Sit! Stay! Buy me things! Slack and draw comics at your desks! (At the very least, follow my direct order to go out to lunch tomorrow, Hot Presses be damned!)

No slacky-drawing and lunching for me just yet. I'm on my way out to go food shopping for someone, then help watch her tiny little kid while she gets some much-needed rest, then... eventually I'm going to have to go back to the neuron-destroying databases and spreadsheets and HTML and generally being bitter and unpleasant to be around.

P.S. - I want a raise, magnanimous boss. Small bills, in cash. Thanks.
