Gobble, gobble

Domitian is definitely the runner-up candidate for the throneAnd now a message from your imperial overlords...

There is no Latin word for 'gobble gobble'

Prince Domitian reads the Imperial turkey pardon. And wishes everyone in the U.S. a Happy Thanksgiving. Or would if, you know, there were a Thanksgiving or any turkeys in ancient Rome.

(Check the entry previous to this for today's comic :) )

Turkey Day isn't big in the family, but...

I drew all morning, learned and mangled the execution of the secret family recipe for high-structural-integrity macncheese, ate, drew some more, watched a lot of Dirty Jobs, felt a little queasy, drew turkeys. And now I intend to sleep about 12 hours straight. This whole "not going to to work" thing is a very odd and novel experience.

You?

Mac-n-cheese.

Goodness me. Hyphens do help with readability.

I watched those Dirty Jobs! Well, except when my dad came over for dinner and said that he didn't really want to watch Dirty Jobs right before he ate. Then we had to watch football. Until he left.

Have a good sleep!

I did have to turn away from the screen when Mike Rowe went down into the sewage processing plant ::shudder:: And in fact the turkey insemination wasn't easy to watch, either. But the Dirty Potato Chips segment was just fine :)

I keep meaning to watch the show, but it has yet to appear when I'm surfing for edumacational teevee. But if they have an episode on potato chips, I may have to check the schedule or sumthing.

Mike Rowe occasionally finds a reason to take his shirt off. For edumacational reasons.

I'm just saying.

Last week he was only wearing a towel. For edumacational reasons.

I cooked the Thanksgiving dinner - bean sauce turkey stuffed with risotto, mac and cheese with chorizo, watercress salad, cranberry relish and apple crumble. My cousin helped with the turkey and made a corn casserole. It was all rather delicious, and I have a fridge full of leftovers (really the ultimate goal of cooking all that food). Watched a couple of episodes of Dexter and did a half-assed liveblog throughout the day. Crashed for about 9 hours, then turned CNN on to find out about the Mumbai attacks I'd been avoiding yesterday.

Wow, that menu sounds good. I used to have a great recipe for cornbread stuffing (with bacon or sausage, for carnivores), and I've been craving it lately, so I might have to try to recreate it.

After a few hours of nonstop Mumbai coverage I had to take a real long break from it. I guess I should check today and find out the current situation, or maybe just catch up online....

I actually have a couple boxes of Stove Top that I decided not to make yesterday. I need to pick up some chicken stock today since I already diced the veggies to go with the stuffing.

I'm watching a scary hippo show now...they just dun et some human.
