This reminds me of a moment I had in a class called 19th-Century Novels in college. We were discussing one of Dickens' books, which features an older woman who insists on passing as younger than she is. (I forget the novel, which shows what an impression it made on me.) Anyway, my professor addressed the class: "Here you have a woman who wears false teeth, heavy face powder, wigs, etc., etc. . . . what's the best way for her to look younger?"

I answered immediately, "Dim light."

Calatoria actually could use dim light. I'm thinking starlight.
