I'm sure Venus won't mind her using the votive to save her life...Seeing as the Gods get offerings on a frequent and regular basis :D
As for the pen situation, I too would suggest you explore Rapidographs; they have ones now with cartridges that you can refil and just pop into the pen, as opposed to the 'old skool' version of having to dissasemble the entire pen.
As much as I do love the 'disposable' microns, the smallest tip does indeed seem inadequate at times, and surely feels wasteful when they dry up.
