Good point. As property, she has absolutely no idea what will happen to her next. He might have freed her in his will, but there were some wonky rules around this time about freeing young slaves. She might be bequeathed to one or another family member. She might be sold off who-knows-where. At least she doesn't have to worry about being bundled up in his tomb for use in the afterlife, but that's about all she can be sure of.
