Felix was born in 50 AD—CE if preferred, though to me "79CE" just doesn't have the ring of "79AD," and I'm looking forward to using that one in the future, but where was I... ah, right—and he has just turned twenty. I provide this detail for any students of ancient history. Or, anyone with access to Wikipedia.





P.S. - Foreshortening is hard. I need to work on that.

Like that joke Latin teachers always tell... there's a line somewhere in the Aeneid where students always scan it wrong by reading AE-ne-as instead of AE-NE-as and the teacher always waits for that moment to say, "Do you think Dido would have slept with Aeneas if he'd had a short penult?"

Mine told me *about* it, but I didn't get to experience it for myself. Not that I scanned perfectly, but just that I never got that line in class.
